Course lists for 2026-27

DGR publishes separate lists for officers and for JCOs and ORs, with course names, institutes and dates. They are PDFs on DGR's website. Check the dates there before you apply, as they can change.

Rules for officers: one course, and how to apply

These rules come from DGR's norms for officers, published by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare in 2015. They may have been revised since, so confirm them with your service headquarters or DGR before you plan around them.

  • If you did a DGR course while serving, you cannot do another one.
  • The 24-week management course is for officers in their last year of service who have not done another DGR course. Other courses run for at most 89 days.
  • Short Service Commission officers become eligible after 10 or 14 years of service, or once the result of their board for permanent commission is declared.
  • Serving officers apply through their service headquarters: Army HQ (MS-7(B)), Naval HQ (DESA) or Air HQ (JDPO Placement Cell).
  • Retired officers apply directly to DGR's Training Directorate, with the form countersigned by the Rajya Sainik Board or Zila Sainik Welfare Office.

How JCOs and ORs apply

If you are serving, ask your unit or record office about the DGR course list and how to put your name forward. If you have been released, use DGR's application form for ex-servicemen: your Zila or Rajya Sainik Board verifies it, and you attach copies of your discharge book, ex-serviceman identity card, PPO and Aadhaar.

The form states that no stipend is paid to ex-servicemen. Check DGR's training page for how long after release you can still apply.

After the course

A course helps most when it matches the jobs you will apply for. Look at current jobs before you choose, and keep your course certificate with your resume. VetNet also runs paid certification training such as PMP and Scrum; these are separate from DGR and not funded by it.
